WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECLAIM CITIZENSHIP?

In general, eligible applicants include:

1. People with an all-male lineage back to present-day Luxembourg (Article 7)

2. People with a mother or grandmother (even if deceased) who had such all-male linage, or people with a parent or grandparent who is/was a citizen (Article 23).

There are some nuances to the law, so reach out to see if your family qualifies!

HOW DOES IT WORK? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

We will help you determine your eligibilty via email, then have a live initial consultation over Zoom. We will explain the entire process to you, including a checklist of specific documents your family will need in Stage One and guidance on how to obtain them. Finally, we will submit your documents and application to Luxembourg for you.

If you are pursuing Article 7 citizenship:

You will receive your nationality certificate in the mail about 2-6 months after that. That’s right – no trip to Luxembourg is necessary!

If you are pursuing Article 23 citizenship:

We will have another Zoom with you after you receive your Stage One certificate, and we will explain your next steps, which will include a trip to Luxembourg. About 2-6 months after your trip, you will receive your nationality certificate in the mail.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The initial consultation is $175 for a single person, and $75 per person after that for families.

Stage One is $300 per person, and $175 per person after that.

Stage Two (only required for those pursuing Article 23) is $750 per adult and $150 per minor child.

DO I HAVE TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE?

No, people pursuing Reclamation of Luxembourg Nationality do not need to take the language exam or the civics exam that is normally required of citizenship applicants without Luxembourgish ancestry.
